In Our Own, Living Room Disco

 Dress c/o 6ks / Shoes - Sole Society
 ~
Hiiiiiii! I foresee this as being a very long post so brace yourselves guys!
I guess I'll state the obvious first! I did it! After many many hours spent on my hair, it's finally as close as where I want it to be. I ended up bleaching 3 separate times, going through 2 dye jobs with one dye that turned my hair pink instead of purple and on the 3rd try, with a new dye, my hair was finally purple! I'm so happy with the way it turned out and will try my best to maintain this dye for a while. So hopefully you guys don't tire with it too quickly :P

Next! ***warning, prepare for some major fangirling, please disregard the next paragraph if you have a weak stomach for One Direction and squeals :P*** If you guys have not seen my recent instagram posts, I went to the One Direction concert at Metlife stadium! Actually, let me rephrase that...I went to BOTH nights, Monday and yesterday, 1D performed at Metlife!!!!!!!!! I don't talk about my major obsession with 1D much on the blog but I'm making an exception this time so hopefully you guys won't judge me too much haha :P So my friend's friend was selling tickets for the show on Monday night and for half the actual ticket price, we couldn't pass them up! We had been talking about going but we're kind of late comers on the 1D scene so by the time our obsession reached its peak, the venue was pretty much sold out so there wasn't a good selection of seats to choose from. But luckily the friend sold us seats on the level above the floor so we jumped on them! This is kind of a long story haha so that was like a month ago. Then last Thursday, as I was driving home from work, I was listening to a radio channel that I don't normally listen to. They announced they were giving away One Direction tickets all day on Friday so the gears in my head started spinning. I started thinking, 'hey wouldn't it be cool if I can go see them both nights??' haha so I told my friend what I heard on the radio and we entered our emails for the online portion of the radio contest and spent all day Friday calling in trying to win the tickets. I literally was glued to my phone and computer all Friday, as they were giving away tickets every hour for the whole day. At one point, between my friend and I, we had 6 phones calling in at a time. Haha, we were only slightly very determined to win tickets for Tuesday night :P So in the end we were never caller 25 and our dreams of going both nights died. Ahh but the story is not over! We went to the concert on Monday night and it was absolutely AMAZING! The conclusion of the concert only made us want to go to the concert the next night even more. I had to intern the next day but I told my friend to scour the internet on Tuesday to see if she can find any cheap last minute tickets for sale. So as I was driving to the bus station on Tuesday morning, I got a phone call and once I parked, I listened to the voicemail and it was the radio station! They told me that I had won tickets for the Tuesday concert and they had sent an email at noon on Monday. However, I had to reply back by 5pm that day and since I hadn't even checked my email, the call was to inform me that I had lost the tickets. I frantically texted my friend telling her to call them back for me since I was on the bus and well I think where you know where this story is going :P She asked if they can make an exception if we send them the form I had to fill out asap and they agreed! We sent the form back to them and voila we got tickets to see them again! There's a bit more to the story afterwards but its not too important. So in the end, my friend and I saw One Direction 2 nights in a row! :D The end! Actually I'll throw some pictures in just for the heck of it, so not 'the end' :P

Woah and lastly I just realized today is my half birthday haha :P I think I'm entitled to some cake now right?

Running in the dark to find East of Eden

Dress c/o Chi Chi
~
This dress *drool* hahah I kind of am in love with this dress from Chi Chi! Interning has given me a good excuse to wear pretty things especially since in the past summers I'd bum out the whole break. The beading on the bodice is absolutely stunning and actually very perfect for working at Amsale!

So this weekend I attempted to dye my hair but it failed miserably haha. Well actually not miserably because it didn't turn out a disaster. I gave myself a trim, just like an inch so barely noticeable, and then I went about bleaching my hair lighter. In the end, the tips of my hair are a lot lighter than in these photos, which were taken a couple days ago. However, they're still not light enough so when I went to dye them lavender, after sitting in my hair for an hour, it didn't show at all. I tried again several hours after my first attempt with a light purple, but way darker than the lavender I was aiming for. The second attempt pretty much failed as well :( The color barely stuck and the lighter sections of my hair ended up a very faint pink :((((( I think I'm going to bleach it one more time later this week because I really really really want this to work haha. Darn you stubborn asian hair :P
