Romper c/o Style Moi // Shoes - Zara // Hat - Vintage
Five years ago today, I started this blog. It was the summer of 2010 and I was about to head into my junior year of high school. Fast forward five years and now I'm about to head into my last year of college. It's crazy to think that some of you have stuck around with me for half a decade! You guys have literally seen me grow up. Every once in a while I'll look back at my past posts to see the evolution; I cringe and realize how far I've come haha. Whenever I read posts on other bloggers reaching an anniversary and reflecting back to the beginning, it gets me thinking about my own start on this blog. To be honest, although it would be cool to have an awesome explanation for starting this blog, there isn't really a profound reason. I can barely remember the initial days and it was honestly all in good fun. I wasn't at a crossroad in my life or searching for a way to explore fashion or express my interest in it. For a lack of better words, blogging just seemed cool. It just seemed like a fun activity that I could easily start on my own. So reminiscing back to the start is a rather lackluster story haha. But what I do want to say in this post, besides expressing my gratitude for sticking with me all these years, is that this blog has truly been wonderful to me. And all you readers have been wonderful to me as well. As cheesy as it sounds, without this blog I don't know if I'd be the same person I am today. This blog has definitely contributed to the evolution of my aesthetic and style and it's really awesome how I can look back at how my style has grown and how it has influenced my design/work and vice versa.
I know I've been slacking a bit the last two years because of school but I'm really hoping I can get back into the swing of things soon whether its in the near future or a year from now when I'm officially out of school. But in the mean time, I hope you guys continue to enjoy my blog as I do reading all of yours. As I said before, I'm about to head into my senior year of college and before I know it, I'll be entering the working adult life. As this time of change arrives, I'm hoping to also move this blog into the next phase of my life. So if you guys notice some changes around here, don't be alarmed haha, a blog makeup is definitely in the works in the near future.
So thank you again for sticking with me for all 5 years and I can't wait to see what's to come in the next 5! :)
