slowly going crazy without power... T-T

I always thought that I could survive without internet for a day or two but i was wrong! My power went out very early sunday morning and has been out for more than 60 hours now :( I realized without internet or tv, its like like living under a rock. The only way i could get internet access was to go to my local library. As I walked into the library, I was so happy to finally be getting contact with the outside world until I ran into my friend. He told me that the internet wasnt working and all i could think about was, "i need to blog! T-T" haha. but obviously the internet starting working because im blogging to you guys right now :D
So random little thing...I was reading all your comments and i noticed that Natalie from Natalie Off Duty left a comment!! haha i thought that was just so cool since shes like so gorgeous and the most amazing blogger ever! :)
okay, randomness over :P
*sigh* i really don't want to go home to no power, no internet, no tv, and cold showers :(
maybe i'll just live at the library until the power comes back on :P

So this is officially my first legit hurricane ever! I just spent all morning helping my parents move everything from the basement upstairs in case the power goes out and the basement floods. I'm crossing my fingers that the power won't go out but if it does, i can confidently say that we are prepared :D haha my mom was kinda freaking out for the hurricane, going around buying supplies like the world's gonna end. but i have to say, i am kind of excited. I can now efficially say that i have experienced a hurricane on the northeast coast. Now that i think of it, this week has sorta been out of the ordinary. With the earthquake in the beginning of the week and now the hurricane, theres been a lot of firsts for me.

my heart only melts for you ;)

~
My friend showed me this awesome melted crayon idea the other day and i just had to try it. This is seriously such a fun project and so easy to do! I mean, who knew crayons could be so enjoyable at an older age? :P
btw, since it rained on Sunday and it's probably gonna rain the Sunday coming up, my hair cut has been postponed to next Sunday. I guess this gives me more time to think about what im gonna do with my hair :)

you hit me like a vision

Last night I was driving home from photo class and i ran over a skunk :( My first roadkill was not pleasant, it was actually kinda scary and call me weird but i felt really really bad afterwards. I hope i don't ever run over another animal in the future!
So anyways, I think i might be getting a haircut soon. As much as i love my long hair (which took forever to get to the length it is now :P) it's getting really annoying. I always grow my hair out, find it annoying, cut a lot of it off and then regret cutting it shorter. I've always wanted to try a different hair style or cut it super short like a bob but i'm a little scaredy cat. I am sooo bad at trying out new things. And you know how when you cut your hair short and it grows out and gets to that point where its not considered long but not considered short, like just in the middle...i hate that! :P thats the part i always dread when i cut my hair short. So after this long little rant, i guess the point is...should i just get a trim or get a couple inches off?

brighter than the sun

The sun has finally come out and it is absolutely beautiful outside. I love how everything's greener and the air feels so crisp after it rains. I drove by my high school today and on the school info board, it said that there's 21 more days till school starts again. I can't believe how fast this summers flown by, i'm not ready to head back to school :P i haven't soaked up enough summer and carefreeness yet...and i definitely haven't gotten any shopping done! me oh my i have no idea what im gonna wear on the first day of school! hmm i always have so much trouble finding the perfect back to school outfit. My friend was telling me how she likes to dress conventionally on the first day of school. She likes to stay within the dress code (not that anyone ever follows it :P) so she can make a good first impression with all her new teachers. I've never thought about that before, but she makes a really good point. what do you guys think would be a cute yet conventional outfit for the first day of school?

jumping in puddles was the highlight of my day

Todays was a sluggish day filled with trying to take pics of water droplets and being told what i clearly already know. Now that i'm learning more on how to use my camera, i wanted to try to catch the rain in the pictures. I probably looked really stupid standing outside with my umbrella waiting for the drops of water to drop :P and of course i have such slow reflexes that i would always miss the drop of water when it dropped -_-
I'm very fortunate to be one of those people who doesnt really have acne. Every once in a while, i'll get a pimple or two or just get a little cluster by my hairline, but nothing really horrible. Yesterday I got a noticable one near my nose on my cheek, so of course i noticed, i mean how can you not know you have a pimple on your face. During the day, my mom was like "do you know you have a pimple!?" and later on my aunt said the same exact thing to me. haha i think i would notice a huge red thingy on my face, but thanks for letting me know mom.

born this way

I am reading a book on all the major studies in psychology and one of the studies found that the vocation you choose is largely determined by your genes and that 30% of the variation in your overall job satisfaction and work ethic is due to genetic factors. How crazy is that?!? To think, whatever career i am involved in in my future (as of right now and hopefully fashion design ^-^) is linked to my genes. it's kinda hard to believe, right?

make believe

I'm starting to deal with college applications and they are a BUTT :P As you all know, I want to be a fashion designer so of course i'm going to be applying to Parsons and FIT and all the other art schools. Does anyone, that has gone through the process or go to any art school, have any advice? :D

Yesterday my friends and I went into the city to go to the Metropolitan Museaum of Art. They have an exhibit right now of all of Alexander Mcqueen's greatest pieces. So we took the bus to port authority and walked the 40 blocks to the Met to find out that the museums closed on mondays -_-
And of course we still had the walk back to port authority. I know what your thinking, why didnt we take the subway or a taxi, well after walking so much you just dont think as clearly :P
Although we didnt get to see the exhibit and got very little shopping done, it was still an experience and a lesson learned. Haha I guess the moral of the story is, always check before hand if a museum is open.
